Winter Rains in Dubai

Here's a photo of what happens in a desert city that has no way to deal with too much rain (lots of sand and no drainage system), which is exactly what Dubai had this week. We never expected rain in the desert, so the events leading up to the flooding were quite surprising in many ways. All schools in Dubai were closed for two days. Many peopled worked from home as well. Steve braved it in and was glad that our rental car was 4 wheel drive. His path did not lead him through a mess quite so deep, maybe only 2 feet of water. --Maria
