Each summer Maria and the girls head back to the U.S. and Steve is left in Dubai along with all of the other bachelors. To break-up the time, Steve tries to take a weekend to travel somewhere. Last he went with fellow American and Dubai resident Scott Grishom to Beirut, Lebanon. Scoot moved back to the U.S. last fall, but found himself in Thailand without his family. A few emails later and Steve was off to Bangkok.
Bangkok was terrific - the people were friendly and polite. The food was fantastic and really affordable. A massage at a respectable spa runs at $19 per hour. The temples were beautiful and clean. Of course, there is a well-oiled tourist machine.
Travel to and from Bangkok was simple and Steve traveled on the new Airbus A380 on the way home. It was a terrific trip.
