Anna's Violin Recital and Kid Holiday Concert

Anna’s wonderful Syrian violin teacher, Mr. Kudsi, hosted a holiday violin recital at his studio mid-December. He teaches 35 students and they all had an opportunity to show off their skills to parents and friends. Though muslim, Mr. Kudsi went all-out to turn this into a real Christmas event for the kids. He decorated his studio with holiday wreaths and Christmas trees. Then concluded the event with a visit from Santa Clause to sing carols and deliver presents to all the children. We had more fun than we could have imagined and Kate just got plain old worn out near the end. She even missed Santa! In addition, Dubai American Academy music teachers hosted holiday concerts by grade level. Anna and Kate did a great job singing songs like: Jolly Old Saint Nicholas, Jingle Bells, and Light the Candle for Kwanza.
